My greatest
environmental concern is that we are running out of water. The aquifers
throughout the world have already dried out or will in the very near future. They
are barely getting recharged, especially due to our severe draught. By 2025, it
is expected that we will outstrip our natural resources and this is only eleven
years away. The aquifers that have been refilled with treated human waste have
been found to have drugs and viruses in the water. The aquifers that are slowly
getting recharged are also declining every year, causing the ground cover to
sink. Mexico City is an example of a city that keeps sinking. It’s scary to
learn that our government is not taking serious measures to resolve this
problem as this will affect everyone on a grand scale.
